Huvila, Finnish for villa, is a traditional rag rug designed by Mervi Pesonen, handwoven from recycled cotton. Rooted in the Finnish rag rug tradition, Huvila brings a fresh, contemporary take on a timeless craft.

This version features a soft, muted palette of warm beige, pale yellow and natural white, blended with grey-lilac and light grey – with a subtle dark charcoal stripe adding quiet contrast. The result is a calm, refined composition that feels both timeless and effortlessly modern.

Thanks to its sturdy, tightly woven structure, Huvila is built for everyday use in high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens and dining rooms. In larger sizes, it works beautifully in living rooms and bedrooms too. The rug is reversible and can be used on both sides, and it can be hand-washed at home for easy maintenance.
